Optimising:
Optimising images for the web is very tricky. You have to get the right balance between filesize and picture quality. Look at a webpage,  you will be able to see that most of its load time comes from images. Your website will be ridiculously slow if you don't drop the sizes of the images. There are three areas where bytes can be shaved off your graphics: bit depth (number of colours), resolution, and dimension.You don't need really expensive graphics editors to reduce the sizes of your images, there are plenty of free utilities that will do the job.

Image Capture:
Image Capture is a program from Apple that enables people to upload images from  cameras or scanners which are  connected directly to the computer or the network. It doesn't include organizational tools like iPhoto but is useful for soritng out images from different varietys.

File Formats:

File formats are the correct file types and settings recommended for creating a portfolio, you need to make sure when your printing that the resolution is set to 300 dpi (Dots per Inch) so the image does not distort. Distortion means when an image is printed and the image quality becomes all pixelated because it wasn’t set on the right resolution.
